Products with return casings (core deposit)

Returnable products include starters, alternators, brake calipers, electric brake calipers, steering racks, power steering pumps, injectors, high-pressure pumps, EGR valves, A/C compressors, flywheels, clutch covers, and other similar exchangeable cores. These products carry an additional deposit fee, which will be refunded to the customer after the old core has been returned and the supplier confirms it meets the requirements.

1. Return period and procedure

  • The old core must be returned within 30 days of receiving the new product.
  • The core must be returned in the original packaging of the purchased product. No writing or labels are allowed directly on the box. Packaging must be securely shrink-wrapped before taping.
  • All protective caps, plugs, and covers must be reinstalled in the same way as on the new product.
  • The returned core must be an original part with the correct reference number. Copies or non-OEM manufacturer products are not accepted.

2. General requirements for returned cores

  • The product must be complete and suitable for remanufacturing.
  • The housing must not be mechanically damaged (no cracks, broken mounting ears, or bent parts).
  • No through-rust, heavy corrosion, or oxidation is allowed.
  • No signs of short-circuit, overvoltage, or overheating (e.g. blue shaft ends, burnt components).
  • All main components (e.g. regulator, pulley, solenoid, connector, motor, pipes) must be present and intact.
  • The core must have a visible and legible original marking or stamp.

3. Product-specific requirements

Alternators

  • Must not be heavily corroded or burnt.
  • Mounting ears must be intact.
  • Rear cover, regulator, diode block, and vacuum pump must be present and undamaged.
  • Pulley must be present and functional.

Starters

  • Solenoid must be present and functional.
  • Rotor shaft must not be overheated (blue) and bushings must be intact.
  • Teeth and drive gear must not be worn or damaged.
  • Housing must be complete with no cracks or broken mounting ears.

Brake Calipers

  • Housing must be intact, without cracks or cuts.
  • Bleeder screw must be intact.
  • For electric calipers, connector must be intact and EPB module present.
  • If the new caliper was supplied with a bracket, the old one must also include it.

Electric Brake Calipers

  • EPB module must be present, not cracked or severely damaged.
  • Connector must be intact and functional.
  • All parts must be complete.

Steering Racks and Boxes

  • Inner tie rods must be present and intact.
  • Rack surface must not be corroded or damaged.
  • Pipes, threads, and fittings must be complete and undamaged.
  • For electric racks, the connector and wiring must be intact. ECU must not show melting or burn marks.

Power Steering Pumps

  • Pulley and mounting must be present and undamaged.
  • Housing and mounting ears must be intact.
  • Reservoir or cap must be included and intact.
  • No severe rust or oxidation is allowed.

Injectors and High-Pressure Pumps

  • Injectors must be straight and fully complete.
  • Connector and overflow pipes must be intact.
  • No disassembly marks, cracks, or severe corrosion are allowed.
  • High-pressure pump wheels, nuts, and electrical parts must be complete and undamaged.

EGR Valves

  • Housing must not be broken.
  • No missing or damaged plastic parts or cooling unit.
  • Solenoid or motor must be present and functional.

A/C Compressors

  • Pulley and clutch must be complete and working.
  • Shaft must rotate (except when clutch is burnt).
  • Connector, housing, and relief valve must be intact.

Flywheels and Clutch Components

  • Clutch disc must be complete, without cracks or deformation.
  • No severe oxidation or blue discoloration from overheating.
  • Pressure plate must not show overheating marks.

4. Refund process

  • PartStall OÜ does not perform inspections itself – cores are sent to the supplier or manufacturer.
  • Refunds are issued only after supplier confirmation. The evaluation process may take up to 8 weeks.
  • Refund may be full, reduced up to 25%, or rejected entirely, depending on the condition.
  • Rejected cores are stored for 1 month, after which they are scrapped or returned at the customer’s expense.
